How to Play the Game?

Players can choose to play against 1 to 3 opponents. The object of the game is to be the first to discard all of your cards. Players are dealt 7 cards at a time and the game is played clockwise.

You can discard cards that match either the color: yellow, green, red or blue or the number: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 of the card in the center. If you cannot match either, you will be forced to draw another card. The card you draw from your reserve can be discarded before the end of your turn.

If you have a move that you can make, you must make it, rather than drawing another card without making the move.

During the game you will have some special action cards that will change the direction of the game or will add a certain number of cards to some players. 

If the entire deck is used up during play, the top card on the discard pile is discarded, and the remaining cards are shuffled to create a new deck from which to draw cards. Play then continues as normal. Immediately after discarding your penultimate card, you must click the 1 button on the screen or you will be dealt 2 more cards.

Which Are the So Called Action Cards?

The Reverse Card

One of the most well-known action cards in Uno is the reverse card. Playing this card reverses the order of turns. Normally, the next player is the person clockwise from you. When you play a Reverse card, the turn order goes in reverse.

Reverse cards are colored, and you can only put them on the discard pile if the card at the top is the same color or is another Reverse card. If the Reverse card is played face-up at the start of a round, the dealer goes first, with the order of play going anticlockwise instead of clockwise.

The Skip Card

If you play the Skip card, the next player has to miss their turn. As with the reverse cards, you can only play a Skip card when there's a card with a matching color or another Skip card at the top of the discard pile. If the Skip card is face-up at the start of a round, the leftmost player has to skip their turn.

The Draw Card

When you play the Draw two card, the next player has to draw two cards and miss their turn. The same goes for other Action cards, you can only play them when there's a card of a matching color at the very top of the discard pile or when someone else plays a Draw two card. If this card appears at the beginning of a round, the player with the first turn has to draw two cards and miss the rest of their turn.

Only Wild Cards Can Make UNO Wild Enough

You have thought that this is all? Not at all, UNO has further surprises in the decks! Here comes the Wild Cards which are really spicing up the game. Every German player loves Wild Cards when it’s among its cards, and hates Wild Cards when they are forced to suffer its consequences. It’s like hot and cold, you either love it or hate it.

There are four different types of Wild cards, and we'll start by looking at the standard Wild card. When played, these cards let a player choose any color to continue going forward. Each pack includes four standard wild cards. If a Wild card shows up at the start of a round, the person to the left of the dealer picks the color that starts play.

Let me show you those notorious Wild Cards.

Wild Draw Four Cards

If you draw a Wild Draw 4 card, the next player has to draw four cards. You'll find four of these cards in each pack. You can choose any color for the card, but you can't play a Wild Draw 4 if you have a card in your hand that matches the color of the card at the top of the discard pile.

If someone thinks you've played the card illegally, they can challenge you. If you played Wild Draw 4, you had to show your hand to the challenger. If they think you're guilty, you have to draw four more cards. But if they're wrong, you have to draw six.

If the Wild Draw 4 card is face-up at the start of a round, you have to return it to the deck. 

Wild Shuffle Hands Card

There's just one Wild Shuffle Hands card in each Uno deck. You can place this card on any colored card on the discard pile. Any color can be attached to it to decide how play continues.

Once you've played the card, just gather up all the cards in each player's hand and shuffle them together. The next step is to deal out these cards, starting with the player to the left of the person who played it. If the card is face-up at the start of a round, the person to the left of the dealer has to choose the color that starts the play.

Wild Change Colour Card

The Wild Change Colour card lets you switch the color being played to any color, including the current color to keep playing.

You can play a Wild card even if you have another playable card in hand. If this card is turned up at the starting of the play, the person to the left of the dealer chooses the color to start with and plays the first card.

Keep Count of the Score!

When you win a hand, you "go out." To win, you have to get rid of all your cards. The winner of the hand gets the points, and the score is based on the total value of the cards held by the other players. The numerical cards are worth the value shown on them. Wild cards are worth 50 points. Other action cards like reverse, skip turn, and deal two cards are worth 20 points each.

If a player goes out using a Wild Draw 4 or a Draw 2 card, the next player must accept those cards into their hand to figure out the total points. Hands are dealt again and again until a player reaches a total of 250 points or more.

UNO Online Tips and Tricks 

To be the best at Uno Online, you've got to keep an eye on your opponents. It's important to keep an eye on how many cards your opponents have in their hand and which cards they're playing. Keep the +2 and +3 cards in reserve for emergencies. I'd advise against playing them too early, in case an opponent runs out of cards. 

It's also a good idea to get rid of the high cards first. If you lose, the high cards will give the winner more points. If you have the chance, switch up the color often.

Use action cards wisely, they can change the course of a game even if you're losing. Work with other players to make sure someone other than you doesn't win the game. Most importantly, drop cards strategically so you always have a variety of colors and numbers to match any cards your opponents play.

In UNO Minecraft, there's a new type of action card. When you draw the Creeper card, show it to the other players, and they'll have to draw three more cards!

The whole gang's back together for a game of UNO, this version includes a special Mario Super Star Card that makes your character invincible.

Once another player has played a Draw 4 or Draw 2 card, play the Super Star Card to bounce the card power back to that player.
